The song 'She moves in her own way' from The Kooks was a practice music video that we did last year. This was our first ever experience with making a music video and we were given two weeks to film and edit a video that we thought was suitable for the song. We chose this song because an important element that we had to stick to whilst doing this task was that we had to get across an aspect of change within the video. We did this by creating a 'Geek to Beauty' situation where a once bullied girl changes to a beautiful girl that is desired by all the school boys. I believe by doing this task i gained a great and valuable experience in the filming and editing needed to make a music video. I believe we put in a great effort considering it was our first time, but i also believe that our video this year must vastly improve to a much better standard.

Our Chosen Song

We chose this song (Jakatta - American Dream) because we thought it sounded mysterious and fantasy like and we had a great idea to a video that would really relate well to that theme. We all shared the same opinion that once we listen to the song we can all picture the same sort of image of video that would suit the song so after this we thought it should be the song we use.

Initial group meeting

Once we had got into our group we started to sit down and decide on the genre of music we was going to use for our music video. We decided we was going to use a dance/house song for our video. This was decided through looking at music videos from different genres and we came to the conclusion that this was the genre we all wanted to do. We started to look at different songs from this genre through the use of youtube and our i-pods. We looked at a few songs such as Calvin Harris 'Flashback', The Streets 'Blinded by the Lights' and ATB '9pm(till i come)'. In the end we decided to choose a song called 'American Dream' by Jakatta.
